A pastor deputy who wants to cure homosexuality, turned heads at Lula’s oath

The legislator, dressed in police uniform, was the most voted in the last elections in Bahia, gathering 323,000 votes.

Lula arrived at the National Congress accompanied by the first lady, Janja; Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and his wife, Lu Alckmin, and was received at the access ramp by Arthur Lira (PP) and Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD), holders of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, respectively.

Isidoro declares himself ex-gay and promotes the “cure” of homosexuality with the preaching of the Bible.

In 2018, he presented a project to establish the Day of the Heterosexual in the Chamber. He is a pastor of the Assembly of God Church and 27 years ago he created the Doctor Jesus Foundation, a social project for the treatment of drug addicts that he founded in Candeias, in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador.

He is a firm supporter of Lula and in 2019 he gained relevance because he offered to mediate between the Chamber of Deputies and then President Jair Bolsonaro, with whom he hoped to get along, for the initiative to carry weapons: “I am known as crazy. And I know how to talk to a madman. He will be one more crazy, ”he said then.
