The Neuquén and Río Negro mountain range is the landscape they chose personalities of national politics and international royalty to visit this summer, where leisure and work are combined in view of the electoral year that has already begun.
The first to arrive is the former president Mauricio Macri who together with his family arrived before Christmas and remains in the region, staying in the country Cumelén, as usual. In the initial days of vacation there were walks, bike rides and walks.
This weekend, the head of the Government of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, with his partner and family, joined the country, in another house. They held meetings with Macri as a result of the “neighborhood” in the stay, according to spokespersons for the leader of Together for Change.
However, the announced meeting between the former president and Rodríguez Larreta remains in strict secrecy by the protagonists and their work teams. So far no photos of the conclave have been recorded.
National media mentioned that it was completed, without going into details of what was discussed in this meeting. Some also point out that a dinner was planned between the two politicians and their partners, Juliana Awada and Milagros Maylin.
It is not ruled out that the leaders also expand the range of guests at political meetings in his rest, as happened other summers.
Río Negro leaders await confirmation and are ready to attend a summit if they are summoned with the objective of defining guidelines for the national and also provincial elections, for which the candidacy of Aníbal Tortoriello from Cipoleño is already launched.
The Qatari emir, an uncertainty
Another illustrious visitor to the region would be the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, although there is no official confirmation of his arrival. In recent days, the billionaire from the Arab country, who has a fortune estimated at 2,500 million euros, was in the port of La Plata, where he arrived on a private yacht that he rented in Brazil and then traveled to Punta del Este, according to the Telam news agency.
In Patagonia, the emir has investments in lands in the province of Río Negro and has a close relationship with former President Macri, whom he recently met in his country, on the occasion of the World Cup.
In addition, it was learned that Máxima Zorreguieta and the royal family of the Netherlands arrived in the region and spent a leisurely afternoon on January 1 at the Relmu Lafken campsite, which the Lof Wiritray Mapuche community manages in the Villa Mascardi area.
