They demand the reinstatement of five workers fired in Sefecha

At the corner of Marcelo T. de Alvear and Miter streets, workers from the Sefecha company demonstrated against the dismissal without cause of five colleagues.

This Monday, at the corner of Marcelo T. de Alvear and Miter streets, a group of workers from the Sefecha company demonstrated for the dismissal without cause of five colleagues. The General Secretary of the Autonomous CTA of Chaco, Neri Salazar, accompanied the claim and the delivery of a formal request for a hearing with the governor, Jorge Capitanich, to “discuss the reinstatement of the workers.”

“This is unfortunate, a practice lost since the previous government, when we had to come out in defense of the workers. Today, formal employment has increased, which is why the dismissal of five colleagues in a provincial company that does not have a legal framework leaves us completely bewildered,” he assured, explaining that the objective is to ask the president, within the framework of the provincial decree that speaks on the regularization of work and private employment, the situation of colleagues, the company and dismissals”.

The five workers, who have between three and ten years of seniority, are from the permanent plant and were “dismissed by telegram, without cause.” “Two of them received a liquidation in their accounts and they do not give them the corresponding compensation. It is not within the framework of the Labor Contract Law”, questioned Salazar.

Neri Salazar, Secretary General of the Autonomous CTA of Chaco.

“We want the compañeras to be reinstated. And, based on that, give any other type of discussion regarding the company and its situation, ”she maintained and explained that Sefecha had the administration of the trains that passed to the Nation to the Sofse company, which today is the one that manages the agreement. Now they are doing other jobs, construction and metallurgy. If the State wants to respond to the workers and establish another corporation, it can do so and without debts”, he pointed out.

The union referent also detailed that there are between 78 and 80 workers, some with 10 or more years of seniority, who today without contributions are in the black practically being plant “.

For her part, the thin union member of Sefecha, Erica Vargas, stressed that she seeks to “make visible what is happening in the company, where five days ago long-serving co-workers received a telegram of dismissal without cause. The claim is for their reinstatement.”

“Our fear is that they will continue to fire other compañeros who joined,” Vargas said.
